The fans appreciate Andreas von Holst because of his uncomplicated nature and his legendary guitar playing, which contributes significantly to the powerful and emotional atmosphere of the concerts. He is considered down-to-earth and approachable and, as part of Die Toten Hosen, is an irreplaceable figure in the German punk rock scene.

“Kuddel” plays his guitar left-handed. This is a direct and visible indication of its handedness. It is also occasionally mentioned in interviews and media reports about the band that he plays as a left-handed player. Press photos and images from concerts also confirm this. In his early years, he had difficulty fingering the chords because, as a left-handed player, he was faced with right-handed guitars. Only later did he learn that there are special instruments for left-handers.
